RoundHouse Interactive enlists Basia Lyjak to score the theme for their revolutionary project "The Game Cartel" - the gaming industry's first player-created console video game!
Toronto - June 3, 2009 - Rising indie-on-the-brink rock singer Basia Lyjak has joined The Game Cartel - the gaming industry's first ever series of player-designed console video games! Taking its inspiration from online games, The Game Cartel lets paid members conceive, develop and vote on the direction of select commercially available console games. The inaugural Game Cartel game currently in development by members and customers is set to be a first/third person shooter game and was officially launched to the public yesterday at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), running June 2-4, 2009 at the L.A. Convention Centre.
"Music has become so crucial in games, and an artist like Basia can provide the versatility and diversity necessary as the development process continues and Cartel members steer this into its final direction over the coming months," says Mike Montanaro of Roundhouse Interactive.
WWE diva and superstar Trish Stratus has already signed on as an advisory, to review user submissions and ultimately decide which ideas will be presented to The Game Cartel member community for voting and approval. More gaming and entertainment personalities will soon be revealed for the advisor panel, allowing users to not only have their voices democratically heard in a climate where they usually do not, but to experience a unique opportunity to interact with industry icons and legends as well!
With significant international attention coming Basia Lyjak's way, she's been demonstrating the power of an independent artist to generate buzz and branch out in the entertainment industry - from widespread press coverage, a growing following of local and online fans, a reality TV show in the works and now scoring music for a video game, she's proven that anyone can live their dream, and it's as much a matter of drive and hard work as it is talent and passion for your craft. Following the video release for "Don't Talk," Basia will release her new single "What It Feels Like," co-written with Spring Awakening's Kyle Riabko at NXNE 2009 in Toronto.
