TORONTO, ON - April 2, 2009 - Rock n' roll singer songwriter Basia Lyjak is filming the pilot for her own reality TV show! The buzz about Basia's passion, talent and unflappable drive to succeed is loud, clear and impossible to ignore. For those still missing out on her huge voice, spitfire stage presence and ultra-catchy songs, camera crews will capture it all to get you up to speed. Basia is living her dream every day, but at no small cost - from the grime of working her fingers to the bone to make ends meet, to the glamour and grit of the music industry, to the ultimate climax of live performance, the pilot will profile the rollercoaster ride of this rising Canadian star with nowhere to go but up.
Crews have been following Basia since her CMW showcase, catching a slew of interviews, including with SyncLive.com, UCS Live and UCS Wave, and they will be on hand on April 11th, 2009 to capture her debut performance at the Hideout, one of the hottest live music venues on Toronto's Queen St. W. strip right now. The Naked News will also be there to film Basia's show for footage for an interview they'll be doing with her on their program in mid-April!
"Some singers were born with the rock'n'roll gene and some were not. The minute Basia Lyjak opens her mouth, you know which group she falls into. Lyjak has the kind of voice that would be out of place anywhere but centre stage in front of screaming guitars, big bad bass lines, and pounding drums. Her music is a full-frontal assault on the sense, and she gives no quarter." - Doug Gallant, Canadian Musician Magazine
The name Basia Lyjak has been on everybody's lips since the release of the "Don't Talk" video at CMW - www.YouTube.com/BasiaLyjak - so join her and her wicked players Ron Bechard (Edwin, Sin Dealer), Dale Harrison (The Headstones), Pat Kelly (Paris Black Band) and Daz Coppins (Sound of Fury) at the Hideout for an intimate show that's not to be missed. TooHighToGetItRight.com listed missing Basia's CMW set because of massive lineups as the biggest disappointment of the festival - so get to the Hideout early and spare yourself from that disappointment!
You've seen Basia on SUN TV's Canoe Live, OMNI1, Rogers Entertainment and TwentySomethingTV.com; you've heard her all over the internet and on Q107 for her Lee Aaron opening slot and on Y108's "Get Hammered." You've read about her in Canadian Musician Magazine, The Toronto Sun, Metro News, Mississauga News, Uncharted Sounds, Fazer, Spill Magazine, Muzik Movement Newz and more, more, more! People have taken notice, and in 2009 it will be impossible to turn away from Basia Lyjak or get her songs out of your head!
